New exhibit on display in Washington Hall
By David Josselyn
A new exhibit is showing at Gilpin Arts Washington Hall featuring works from Gilpin Arts members. President of Gilpin Arts Harv Mastalir often reflects upon the artistic excellence we have right here in Gilpin County. President Mastalir is continually amazed at the maturity and professionalism of the submitted pieces in the gallery. From photography, oils, and pastels to sculptures, roku, fabrics and glass, the members have done it all. Members who have submitted works include Heather Diamond Ryan, Ruth Briggs, Gigi Lamont, Cecelia Eidemiller, Carol Walker, Barbara Stainman, Heidi Meissner, and a host of others. Visual art is better seen than described so to find out what Harv is talking about, simply visit the Washington Hall gallery located at 117 Eureka Street in Central City, just a hop, skip and jump up from the Visitor’s Center and across the street from the Opera House. The Members Show will be on display through September 28th. If you would like to support Gilpin Arts and help keep the lights on, be on the lookout for the 2014 Gilpin Arts fundraiser on September 13th. And if would like an up close a personal look at the creative process behind the art, the Art Studio Tour is coming soon.
